Ever seen a fat serious runner? There is a reason for this of course. Running burns calories, plenty of them. Of course serious runners also closely watch what they eat but running does burn calories, which will burn fat and help you lose weight. It works for me and plenty of other people.
Running is simple because we pretty much all know how to do it, we don’t need to buy any special equipment, and you can run almost anywhere. I’ve run in cities, in the woods, in the country, inside on treadmills, and barefoot on the beach. My 89 year old dad even runs laps inside the house sometimes.
Before you start, you should check with your doctor and get permission and that’s just common sense. Then, start very slowly. You might start running a mile two or three times a week or maybe even running just a few hundred feet depending on your fitness level. And if you alternate running and walking that is OK too. Just concentrate on completing your target distance, and do not worry about speed. You can always build up speed and distance later if you want to.
Running is a very efficient exercise in terms of time. It burns calories faster than most other activities like walking and biking, even if you run very slowly like I do. You may also find, after the initially shock to the body and a few weeks, that you actually enjoy running and look forward to it! I am always lighter when I ‘m running a few times a week and it’s a simple exercise you should consider.
